Spice Paste For Thai Tom Yum Soup (Hot)

Recreate Thailand's most famous soup at home with this convenient spice paste that combines the refreshing flavor or lemongrass with fiery chilli peppers.

No added MSG, preservatives or artificial colors.

Thai Tom Yum Soup (Serves 4):

Ingredients:

1 packet Thai Tom Yum Soup Spice Paste

4 cups (880ml) water or chicken stock (unsalted)

250g (1/2 lb) shelled and deveined prawns, squid, mussels or cubed fish fillets

60g (2 oz) sliced ​​shitake or button mushrooms

Fresh coriander and chillies as garnish

Lime or lemon juice and soya sauce or fish sauce as optional seasoning

Cooking Instructions:

1. Boil water or unsalted chicken stock in a saucepan. Add spice paste and stir well

2. Add prawns and mushrooms, bring back to boil

3. Just before serving, season to taste. Garnish and serve hot

Cooking Tips: Chicken may be used instead of seafood. For more intense flavours, add fresh slices of galangal, lemongrass and kaffir lime as garnish.
